In Memory

This is a page that I had posted on Flair a couple of years ago. This is me (the taller one) and my cousin Dixie. It's just as the journaling on the original page says "we were as close as sisters" and "when you saw one, you saw the other", we were always together.

I'm posting the original page on this background, because I just received a call that my dear "sister-cousin" passed away this morning. I am sure that she is now in Heaven and I'll see her again with the others who have gone ahead.

The background is by jaelop (I think).

A Rare Moment

Last Saturday, Gary's sister Sue celebrated her 66th birthday. This picture is a rare moment, as it is almost impossible to get the whole family together for a picture. Sue is the one in the middle in front row. My Rhett is the one in the light blue shirt on the right in back. Don't tell anyone, but I think I definitely got the pick of the litter! LOL
Just wanted to do a quick page to try out the new 'puter. So far, I'm happy with it. So much faster and I had PSE5, my blog and music all going at the same time. This was not possible with the old computer. Had to shut down PSE5 to get on the internet.

Happy Anniversary, Mat and Mike

Believe it or not, I made this several days ago so I would have it all ready and I had every intention of posting it last night, but somehow time got away from me. My sincere apologies, Mat and Mike, that this is late. I hope you all had a wonderful day and may you all celebrate many, many more happy years together.
Love,
Miss Scarlett and Rhett.

An Awesome Sight

Not really a scrap page, just some pics I took on our way back home from Arizona and wanted to share with you all. On the trip out we took the southern route, Little Rock, Dallas, Ft. Worth, El Paso, Tucson, etc. because there had been lots of snow on I-40. When we were getting ready to come back home, I remembered this place that we had passed on one of our previous trips , but didn't stop because we thought the huge cross was all there was to see and you could see it very clearly from the interstate. In fact you could see it from almost 20 miles away! To get there we went up to Flagstaff and got on I-40 there (there was still snow on the ground after 3 weeks) but the highways were clear and I figured this may be our last chance to stop and really look at it. I doubt there will be any reason to go back to Arizona now.

This little town is Groom, TX. just outside Amarillo. The cross stands 190 feet tall and the smaller pictures are actually life size bronze statues (the little dark areas around the cross are the statues, to give you an idea of just how large this cross is. I have more pics that I will post later from here but I wanted to get this posted especially now that Easter is soon. This is truly an amazing sight and if you are ever in the area I'm sure you will be blessed if you take the time to stop and look at it, we certainly were, especially considering the circumstances of the trip. At any rate I hope you enjoy the pics.

Just so y'all know...

Southern Bells don't just sit on the veranda sipping mint juleps all day long. This is our newest member, Rachel Lee. Not only is she a southern bell (from North Carolina with ties to TN), she's an accomplished horse rider, barrel racer and roper...not to mention a very talented artist!

This page is just to welcome her and also warn her of the dangers of posting pics of yourself. LOL
Good thing I got to this before Miss Gerri did...hard tellin' what Miss Rachel would have been turned into!! Isn't that right, Miss Boots????

Our Beautiful Redhead
