News Flash

Our Roving Reporter just sent in this news bulletin. It seems that the veranda is always lacking in refreshments lately. Being the good southern hostess that I am...this concerned me, as I do not want to appear inhospitable!! So I put in a call to our roving reporter ( good thing he works "pro-bono") and I received this. Far be it from me to point fingers but....... well, y'all can draw your own conclusions.

A Little Early

I'm sure you all recognize our Ashton, by now. He won't actually be a year old until next month, but his mom and dad couldn't wait to get this picture done. It's so hard to believe he is almost a year old. He's always all smiles...and has quickly learned what a camera looks like ( gee, I wonder who takes so many pics of him, lol). I love the little bare feet in this pic. He has shoes..he really does..but being a country boy, he's not crazy about leaving them on. LOL. Thanks for lookin' at our little miracle boy, he's come such a long way and we've been so blessed.

The background is from anglescrapper's new "Summer" kit, flowers are from her "Always and Forever" kit. Word art is by me.

How Proud We Are

and how very much we love you. This is Cory and he has grown up way to fast for us. Tomorrow he will be graduating from 8th grade and then in a few short months, he will be in high school. It doesn't seem that long ago that I dressed him in the very same little outfit that his Daddy had worn as a baby. I had saved it because Kevin looked so cute in it and I had hoped that one day I could put it on his son. Yeh, I'm really sentimental that way! lol.

Anyway, our "little Cory" is now our "handsome young man Cory". He is just one of the greatest kids ever, always willing to help out, don't know what Papaw and I would do without him. We just wanted to say "Do you know how loved you are?"

Remembering "Mamaw"

This is my dear Mother-In-Law, (Rhett's Mother). The last picture we have of her was taken on her 87th birthday. We got her 87 red roses. She has been in Heaven for 6 years. We daughters-in-law always called her "Mamaw". Just a little bit of a thing, barely 5' tall and full of spunk. She almost single handily raised 9 children. What a lady she was. Loved for me to take her shopping cause I was never in a hurry, that's what she always used to say "Judy don't rush me". She could look as long as she wanted to. Before she got sick when she still lived alone....she would get up every morning at 6am and cook a big breakfast..when we asked her why she did that her reply as..."just in case somebody comes by and hasn't eaten yet" (and they usually did, most times it would be one or two of the sons, because it made her happy to feed them). How we miss this beautiful little lady.

We Love You, Mamaw.

Remembering Mom

This is one of my favorite pictures of Mom. Long before she got sick, when she was still known as the best cook at the Stardust Resort, where she worked many long hours. I'm sure there are still many people living in Yuma who remember Mom as the best cook around.
I had to play around with this picture and finally ended up making it lighter because it wasn't in the best of condition. It's the one Daddy always carried in his wallet. I thought that was the sweetest thing, it was still in his wallet, after all these years, when he passed away.

In Memory of Mommy on her first Mother's Day in Heaven.

Jury Duty??

Jury duty, huh?? That's what Miss Gerri claims she's been doing but our faithful "Roving Reporter" pictured the outfit that she had laid out to wear tomorrow. Doesn't look much like juror dress to me. You've got some explaining to do, Miss Gerri!

Love that smile

This is our Ashton. I can't believe he will be a year old in June. Of course he was 10 weeks early but he's coming along nicely...don't ya think? Proof that God answers prayers.

My Other Blog

Just wanted to let y'all know that I have another blog site also. It's dedicated to inspirational pages, praises, ponderings and thankfulness to Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Miss Carol, made the blinkie and I think she did an awesome job, as usual. You can find it on the right. If you feel so inclined, click on it and it's my hope that you will find a blessing. I'm just getting started on it, so please keep checking back.

The veranda will, of course, always be open for our usual fun filled get togethers.
Love and Blessings to all.
