Precious in Pearls

Our son and daughter-in-law are finding out how wonderful it is to be grandparents. Now they understand why I always said "if I had known how much fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first". LOL. They took Miss Fluff to get pictures made last week. Now, you all know how hard it is to choose from all the poses that the photographer takes...well...they couldn't choose so they bought them all! Needless to say, y'all are going to be seeing a lot of Miss Fluff in the near future! This one just happens to be ONE of my favorites. She's such a little ham (OK, so she's a fluffy ham, lol). Thanks for looking in on our little girl.

Denim and Lace

Yes, Rhett is all better now and we got to keep Ahston today (pages will follow). While he was here our son, Greg, brought Little Miss Fluff by to visit. She and Ashton love each other so much. He stood at the window, looking out, yelling "Gracie", like that would make her appear sooner. We had bought her a new denim dress, size 9 months...(she is 5 months old). Good thing I took lots of pics of her wearing it today..(I'm just sayin') LOL. I know it's only been 2 weeks, but oh my, how we have missed these little ones! What fun Big Papaw and I had today! How very blessed we are!!

Growing

We are going into withdrawal from not seeing our little ones for over a week. Our daughter-in-law sent us this picture of Miss Fluff today. Our son took it with his camera phone yesterday when they bought her new car seat (yes, she has outgrown the rear-facing seat, she is a bit fluffy, you know).LOL. They had set it on a dining room chair and put her in it to adjust the belts and see how it fits. She obviously is very proud of her big girl seat as you can see by the smiles, but then again, she is a constant smiley face! Wow, they grow up waaaay to fast!

Blog Sisters are Wonderful

Wow, I didn't realize, until I read Miss Linda's blog, that it's been almost almost 2 1/2 years that some of us stared this blog thingy. AMAZING. I feel so blessed to have developed such a close and strong friendship with my blog sisters. We have watched as darling new babies become sweet toddlers; toddlers grew up to start preschool; children move away and then move back, grandparents become great-grandparents (only Rhett and I are that old, lol); Miss Carol decided to go "topless" in a manner of speaking; Linda became the best chicken plucker in WI; Gerri and Al shuffled off to Buffalo;Mat had surgery and recovered well and Miss Judytoo has had more than her share of trials but has also had many blessings. I've been blessed as you all have comforted me in the loss of my parents, in Rhett's and my illnesses; in the way that you have supported and listened to me when things didn't go exactly as we would have wanted, but as God had planned. And we discover later that His plan was so much better than ours.

It's been a quite week here. No Miss Fluff cooing and laughing out loud; no 'coffee can drum' concert by Ashton. Oh, there have been lots and lots of phone calls, but it's not the same as having them here in person. They hold the phone up to Miss Fluff's ear and when she hears my voice she giggles and makes noises and they say her eyes get really big and bright. Don't know if I can survive one more week without our little ones.

So, as I was reading Miss Linda's Saturday ramblings earlier, she said she was going to be cleaning and dancing to her music and it reminded me of how very similar all of my blog sister's music tastes are to mine. Last night I was looking for one of my favorite songs to add to my blog (I found it..Rock and Roll Heart by Eric Clapton, as you probably have noticed if you have your speakers turned up). Anyway, after I added it to my playlist, I pulled up each of your playlists and had Rhett play "Name that Tune and Artist" (OK, it was very late last night and we were bored, lol). He did very well with Miss Boots, Miss Carol and Mat, not so well with Miss G 'cause he's not really into Josh Groban and Dave Koz but he got most of the others. Wow, we really need to be able to get out of this house!!! LOL

We are really looking forward to the month of March, not only because Spring will be here, but because our 20 year old grandson, Cody will be getting married to his high school sweetheart. They both graduated 2 years ago and will be getting married March 6. Also, we are expecting brand new grandson, Connor Gage, on the 22nd. He will be the third son for our youngest son, Kevin and his wife Dawn. Did I mention that their other two, Cory and Jacob are ages 14 and 12? Talk about an age gap!! He will practically be an only child by the time he's old enough to start school. I have a feeling March will be a great month (even if it snows, lol).

OK, I suppose I've bored you all long enough for tonight. As our dear friend Miss Linda says...I hope you all have "filled it to the brim with memories today". Happy Valentine's Day to you all. I love you dearly and will leave out extra hot toddies.

The Many Faces Of Ashton

I've used these pics of Ashton before in a different layout. But I had extra play time today so I thought I would extract him and do something a little different. This little guy has so many expressions that just crack me up..and he knows it, so therefore he keeps making different faces. You all know what I'm talking about, they all know how to make us laugh.

We didn't get to spend time with him today, because, guess what??? Yesterday Big Papaw came down with shingles!! I took him to Urgent Care this morning, because of course something like this could only happen on the weekend when you can't get to your own doctor. Now he is all upset and worried because he is scared to death that Little Miss Fluff will get chickenpox 'cause she's not old enough to have had her chickenpox vaccine yet. Also, Kevin and Dawn were here earlier in the week and of course with Dawn being pregnant, that's not a good thing either. Add to that, the fact that he won't get to go to church tomorrow and he's called the kids to tell them all to stay away. So needless to say, my poor Rhett is more than a little stressed right now (which only makes shingles worse). On Monday morning pediatrician will be called for Gracie and Dawn's obstetrician will be called...in the meantime, we will just pray that, since he didn't have symptoms or rash until last night, all will be fine.

So, that's how my day has been so far....hope yours has been a lot better. Yep, we're makin' memories..not so sure we like them though. lol

Precious Moment

Ashton loves to visit when Gracie is here. He so wants to play with her and can't understand why she can't do the things he does. It's so sweet to watch them together. Yesterday, she was on her playmat and he was squatting down singing "Jesus Loves Me" to her. Though he can't quite get all the words yet, he does manage "Jesus, me, I Know". Gracie loves him and he loves her...Jesus loves them both!

Now What Happens?

This is "Little Miss Fluff's new ride...problem is she can't quite make it go yet. But, I'm thinkin' in a couple of weeks we will be chasing her all over the house. We are havin' such fun with this little bundle of smiles..we have her on Monday and Wednesday when Candace has classes and on Thursday, when she goes to work. Other days, her Papaw and Nana(our son, Greg and daughter in law, Tammy) get to have fun with her. This one surely knows how loved she is! She has an almost constant smile on her sweet little face. I definitely feel the fibromyalgia effects but, hey what's a little pain compared to the joy that "Little Miss Fluffy" brings? I wouldn't have it any other way!
